Yes or No Wheel
A simple decision wheel: think of a question, spin, and get yes, no or maybe. Type it in for a personal answer from Fortuna.
Think of a question that can be answered with yes or no.
Type it above for a personal answer from Fortuna, or keep it in mind for a message from the wheel.
- Yes 40%
- No 40%
- Maybe 20%
The wheel’s answer is always chosen at random. Without a question, the message comes from a fixed set prepared in advance with AI help; with a question, Fortuna’s personal answer is written with the help of AI. For reflection and entertainment, not medical, legal or financial advice. If you are struggling or in danger, please reach out right away: in the US, call or text 988, or call your local emergency number.
A fair spin, every time
The wheel has ten fields: four Yes, four No and two Maybe. When you spin, your browser picks one of the ten with its secure random number generator, and the wheel turns until that field stops under the pointer. Every field is equally likely, so the odds are fair: 40% Yes, 40% No and 20% Maybe.
Without a question, the message under the answer is picked at random from twenty for each answer, prepared in advance with AI help, and no AI runs when you spin. This is also a yes or no wheel with question: if you type one, Fortuna writes you a personal answer with the help of AI. It fits the wheel’s result to your question, but it never picks or changes the result: the wheel does.
Without a question, nothing goes to our backend or to our AI provider; our cookie-free statistics only count the spin and its answer. If you type a question, it is sent to our AI provider to write Fortuna’s answer, and it is not saved in a database. Personal answers count toward the 10 a day you share with Ask Fortuna and Dream Interpretation; spinning itself has no limit.
What do Yes, No and Maybe mean?
Every spin lands on one of three answers:
- Yes. Four of the ten fields. Fortuna’s message encourages you and leaves the final say with you.
- No. Four of the ten fields. A gentle no, with a nudge to look at what else might be possible.
- Maybe. Two of the ten fields. The answer is not ready yet: wait, find out more, and ask again later.
When a quick answer helps, and when it doesn’t
A spin is a light way to settle something small, or to hear what you already feel. For the big things, give yourself more than a wheel: take your time, think it through, or talk to someone who knows you.
- Breaking a tie between two choices you like equally.
- Getting unstuck on a small everyday decision.
- Noticing your reaction: relief or disappointment often shows what you really want.
- Deciding about your health, money or legal matters.
- Settling a big life choice that deserves a calm talk with someone you trust.
- Spinning again and again until you get the answer you wanted.
How to ask a good yes or no question
Make it one clear question
Ask about one thing that can be answered with yes or no, such as: Should I take Friday off? A question with two options in it, this or that, gives the wheel nothing clear to answer.
Ask about yourself
Questions about your own choices work best. What other people will do is theirs to decide, and no wheel can know it.
Spin once, then listen
Type your question for a personal answer from Fortuna, or keep it in mind for a message from the wheel. Spin, read, and notice how the answer makes you feel. That feeling is often the most useful part.
How is it different from the yes or no tarot?
The wheel’s answer is pure chance with simple, fair odds: Yes, No or Maybe, with a short message from the wheel, or with a personal answer from Fortuna when you type your question.
The Yes or No Tarot draws one of 78 cards. Each card leans yes, no or not yet because of its traditional meaning, and you can read that meaning along with your answer. Choose the wheel for a quick, light decision, and the tarot when you would like something to reflect on.
Free spins, with no daily limit
Spinning is free and unlimited, with no sign-up. Personal answers to a typed question are written with the help of AI, so they count toward the 10 free answers a day you share with Ask Fortuna and Dream Interpretation. When those are used up, the wheel keeps going with its own messages.
Want an open answer instead of a yes or no? Our fortune teller, Ask Fortuna, answers any question in a few sentences, with the help of AI.
Questions about the yes or no wheel
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. Before the wheel starts to turn, your browser picks one of the ten fields with its secure random number generator, and the spin shows where it lands. Every field is equally likely, so Yes and No each come up 40% of the time and Maybe 20%. Nothing is weighted, and one spin has no effect on the next. A personal answer from Fortuna is written for the result the wheel picked; it never changes it.
Can I spin again?
As often as you like: spins have no limit, and personal answers count toward the 10 a day. If you find yourself spinning the same question again and again, though, you may be waiting for the answer you hoped for. That wish is worth noticing, too.
Why is there a Maybe?
Because some questions are not ready for a yes or a no. Two of the ten fields say Maybe, a reminder to wait, find out a little more, and ask again later.
Is my question saved?
Without a question, nothing goes to our backend or to our AI provider. If you type a question, it is sent to our AI provider to write Fortuna’s answer. Your question and Fortuna’s answer are not saved in a database or a reading history on Dear Fortuna. There are no accounts and no share links. To keep the service working, the request and the answer are kept for up to 30 days in our AI monitoring, and our AI provider, OpenAI, may keep them for up to 30 days to check for misuse. To count your personal answers, we keep a daily counter linked to your IP address. Our cookie-free statistics count each spin, its answer and whether a personal answer was asked for, never the question.
Does the wheel use AI?
No AI runs when you spin: the answer is always chosen at random in your browser. Without a question, the message comes from a fixed set, twenty for each answer and never the same one twice in a row, prepared in advance with AI help. If you type a question, Fortuna’s personal answer to it is written with the help of AI, once you have agreed to send your question to our AI provider.
Can I add my own options?
No. This wheel answers only yes, no or maybe.
Is the yes or no wheel free?
Yes. Spinning has no limit, and you do not need an account. Personal answers to a typed question are free too: 10 a day, shared with Ask Fortuna and Dream Interpretation.
