Terms of Use
Terms for using dearfortuna.com. Last updated: October 2026.
1. Scope and provider
These terms apply when you use the website dearfortuna.com ("Dear Fortuna"). The site is provided by Sirio Sperandio, Rechberggasse 1, 1100 Vienna, Austria ("we", "us").
2. What Dear Fortuna offers
Dear Fortuna offers daily, weekly, monthly and yearly horoscopes for the twelve zodiac signs, tarot readings (a three-card reading, the Card of the Day and a love spread), a yes or no tarot, a yes or no wheel, dream interpretation and Ask Fortuna, an online fortune teller.
Everything is free of charge and needs no account. We may change, extend or end any part of the site at any time.
Dear Fortuna is meant for people aged 16 and over.
3. For entertainment and reflection, not advice
Horoscopes, tarot readings, dream readings, the yes or no wheel and the answers from Ask Fortuna are meant for entertainment and self-reflection. They are not predictions, and they do not replace medical, psychological, psychotherapeutic, legal or financial advice.
Please do not base decisions about your health, your money, legal matters or your safety on a reading; the decisions about your life are always yours. If you are in a crisis, please contact a doctor, a counseling service or your local emergency number. In the US you can call or text 988 at any time.
4. Content written by AI
Tarot readings, answers from Ask Fortuna, dream readings, personal answers on the yes or no wheel and the horoscope texts are written wholly or partly by AI models from OpenAI. Fortuna is the voice of this site, not a real person.
The yes or no tarot and the yes or no wheel pick their results at random, and no AI runs when you draw a card or spin without a question. The card meanings and messages shown then were prepared in advance with the help of AI, and so were the card meaning pages. A personal answer to a question you type into the wheel is written by AI.
AI-written text can be inaccurate, inconsistent or simply not fit your situation. We check the daily horoscopes automatically against the calculated sky of the day, but nobody reads a tarot reading, a dream reading or an answer from Fortuna before you see it. If the AI service is not available, you may see a short prewritten message instead of a reading.
5. Daily limits
To keep the site free for everyone, the readings that an AI model writes have a daily limit per visitor: currently 3 tarot readings (all spreads together) and 10 questions a day to Ask Fortuna, the dream interpreter and the personal answers on the yes or no wheel together. Horoscopes, the yes or no tarot and spinning the yes or no wheel have no limit.
The limits are counted per IP address and per calendar day in UTC, and they start fresh at midnight UTC, which is the evening before in the US. They are shared with our German sister site, MeinOrakel. Several people using the same internet connection share one count. We may change the limits.
6. Fair use
When you use Dear Fortuna, please do not:
- send automated requests (bots, scrapers, scripts) without our permission;
- try to get around the daily limits, for example by switching IP addresses on purpose;
- enter content that is unlawful or that violates the rights of others;
- try to make the AI produce harmful, hateful or unlawful content;
- disrupt, overload or attack the site or the services behind it.
If we see abuse, we may block access, for a time or for good.
7. Your questions
Your questions remain yours. You allow us to process them, including through our AI provider, in order to write the reading you ask for. Your reading is not saved in a database or a reading history on Dear Fortuna. To keep the service working, the request and the answer are kept for up to 30 days in our AI monitoring, and our AI provider, OpenAI, may keep them for up to 30 days to check for misuse. Details are in our privacy policy. Please do not enter personal information about other people.
8. Rights to the content
The texts, graphics and tarot card designs on dearfortuna.com are protected by copyright as far as the law provides. You may use them, and any reading written for you, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other use beyond what the law allows requires our prior written permission.
9. Availability
We work to keep the site available, but we cannot promise that it is always reachable. Maintenance, updates and outages at third-party services (in particular OpenAI and Cloudflare) can interrupt it for a while.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health.
For slight negligence we are not liable, as far as the law allows. A reading is not advice, so apart from the cases above we are not liable for decisions based on it.
Mandatory consumer protection rules, in particular those of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (KSchG), remain unaffected.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms when there are technical, legal or organizational reasons. The version published on this page at the time you use the site applies.
12. Governing law and place of jurisdiction
Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you usually live remain unaffected.
The place of jurisdiction for disputes with businesses is Vienna. Consumers can also bring proceedings at the court of their place of residence.
If a provision of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain valid.
